a dust bath with the serene sun light of a saturday morning. walter is a happy little chinchilla who lives in a not-so-little room covered with silver tarp and other sanitary precautions. he doesn’t even have to stay in his cage! how’s that for luxury? he likes to listen to music while he takes a bath. he doesn’t like to be petted much yet, but we’re gradually working through it. TIP FOR CHINCHILLA PETTING: so far he mostly just likes to be scratched behind his ears, and this has been a good “in” for petting him. we adopted him when he was a few years old, and he hadn’t been pet much previously. he also doesn’t mind petting much when he eats his raisins. he loves the magnetic fields.
