Chinchilla Cages, Information and Resources
photo credit: kasprzolSo, you’ve decided to purchase a chinchilla or maybe your adding to the pet family you already have. Either way, your chinchilla needs a safe and fun home. A large, multi level cage is best, especially if you have more than one. Chinchillas need enough room to move freely, jump around, play and bathe. Choose a water bottle that they can’t chew on (not plastic).
Chinchillas also need plenty of exercise for good heath and so they aren’t stressed or bored. An exercise wheel is great. You can also let you pet out in a room with supervision so they can explore. You have to be ready to take care of a chinchilla. There is alot to do for your pet to have good health and a happy habitat, but the rewards far out weigh the work.
The good news is Sharon L. Vanderlip DVM wrote “The Chinchilla Handbook (Barron’s Pet Handbooks)”. Thia is a great guide for beginners and good information for the pros too.The Chinchilla Handbook (Barron’s Pet Handbooks). Get your guide to informative Chinchilla Care.
